Keptley for VS Code

Your team's documentation, kept true, in the editor.

  • Ask and get the passage from your own pages that answers it, with a link to the page. When no page covers the question, Keptley names the person closest to it rather than inventing an answer.
  • May be out of date: pages a merged change may have made wrong, with the pull request and the reason, so the ones that would mislead somebody are visible before they do.
  • This file: open the page that describes it, or its history, showing which pull request caused each version and why.
  • Save this file as a page, with the reason kept in the history.
  • Copilot agent mode gets the same Keptley tools automatically, with no mcp.json to edit.

Getting started

  1. Install the extension.
  2. Run Keptley: Sign in with a token from the command palette, and paste the token your Keptley admin gave you. It is kept in VS Code's secret storage, never in a settings file.
  3. Open the Keptley view in the activity bar.

keptley.apiUrl points at your Keptley server. Leave it alone unless your team was given another address.

Keptley is a hosted service; this extension needs a Keptley organisation. See https://keptley.com.
