A VS Code extension designed to enhance GitLab workflow by providing seamless integration for managing merge requests and tags directly from the editor.

Core Features

  • Merge Request Management: Create and confirm merge requests without leaving VS Code.
  • Tag Operations: Easily create and manage GitLab tags for version control and releases.

Usage

Configuration

Set up GitLab URL, API token, and project details in the extension settings:

  1. Open Command Palette (Ctrl+Shift+P)
  2. Run GitLab: Open Settings
  3. Configure:
    • GitLab URL (e.g., https://gitlab.com/api/v4)
    • API Token (Personal Access Token)
    • Project selection

API Compatibility

Supports GitLab v4 API for modern GitLab instances.

Commands

Command Description
GitLab: Create Merge Request Create a new merge request
GitLab: Confirm Merge Request Confirm or close existing merge requests
GitLab: Create Tag Create a new tag for releases
GitLab: Open Settings Configure GitLab connection

Tips

  • Quick Search: Press Enter in dropdown fields to trigger search
  • Recent Items: Recently used projects, branches, and tags are saved for quick access

Requirements

  • VS Code 1.80.0 or higher
  • GitLab instance with API v4 support
  • GitLab Personal Access Token with appropriate permissions
