Installation
Launch VS Code Quick Open (Ctrl+P), paste the following command, and press enter.

Installation
Open VS Code
Press Ctrl+P / Cmd+P to open the Quick Open dialog
Type ext install vs-spotlight
Click Install
Usage
File Spotlight
In the file explorer, right-click on any file or folder
Select "Toggle Spotlight" to add it to your spotlighted files
Multiple files can be selected using Ctrl/Cmd or Shift
Folders will include all contained files recursively
View spotlighted files in the Spotlight Explorer view
Right-click a spotlighted file and select "Remove from Spotlight" to remove it
Code Spotlight
Select the code you want to highlight in your editor
Use the command palette (Ctrl+Shift+P / Cmd+Shift+P) and search for "Toggle Code Spotlight"
Or use the keyboard shortcut Alt+S / Option+S
The surrounding code will be dimmed while your selection remains highlighted
Keyboard Shortcuts
Default keyboard shortcuts:
Toggle Code Spotlight: Alt+S / Option+S
Clear All Spotlights: Alt+Shift+S / Option+Shift+S
You can customize these shortcuts in VS Code's Keyboard Shortcuts settings.
Extension Settings
This extension contributes the following settings:
vs-spotlight.dimLevel: Controls the opacity level of dimmed code (default: 0.1)
vs-spotlight.enabled: Enable/disable the extension (default: true)
