md-editor-x
Edit Markdown visually in VS Code - WYSIWYG editor.
Supports .md, .markdown, .mdown, and .mkd.
At a glance
• Tables: editable cells, content-sized columns, row/column controls, and a full-width layout.
• Writing: bold, italic, checklists, links, find, and a heading outline.
• Rich content: local images, code highlighting, LaTeX math, and Mermaid diagrams.
• Local-first: no account, document-upload service, or telemetry. Remote images are off by default.
Start editing
1. Open a Markdown file.
2. Press Ctrl+Alt+M (Cmd+Alt+M on macOS) to switch to visual editing.
3. Use Ctrl/Cmd+S to save; the same mode-switch shortcut returns to source.
Or run md-editor-x: Open in WYSIWYG Editor from the Command Palette.
