Jungle Theme — Dark

A dark, jungle-inspired theme for Visual Studio Code.

I made Jungle Theme because I wanted my editor to feel a little more alive without making the code harder to read. I like the balance of the default VS Code dark theme, so I kept that familiar feel and changed the colours to bring in more of a jungle look.

You will find deep greens, earthy shades, warm highlights and a few brighter colours for syntax that needs to stand out.

Features

  • Jungle-inspired colours — Deep greens with warm earthy tones and bright accents.
  • Clear syntax highlighting — Different parts of your code are easy to spot without filling the editor with too many colours.
  • Dark and comfortable — Made with long coding sessions in mind.
  • Familiar VS Code layout — The theme changes the colours while keeping the VS Code experience you already know.
  • Works across your workspace — Use it with your usual languages, files and VS Code setup.

Installation

From VS Code

  1. Open the Extensions view in VS Code.
  2. Search for Jungle Theme — Dark.
  3. Select the extension by Himanshu Dubey.
  4. Click Install.
  5. Open the Command Palette and choose Preferences: Color Theme.
  6. Select Jungle Theme — Dark.

From the Command Line

code --install-extension HimanshuDubey.jungle-theme-himubey

Then open the Color Theme picker and select Jungle Theme — Dark.

Recommended setup

There is nothing extra you need to install to use the theme.

I personally like it with:

  • A dark editor background
  • The default VS Code icon theme or another icon theme you already like
  • Font ligatures, if your coding font supports them

These are only suggestions. Use whatever setup works best for you.

Feedback and issues

If you find a colour that does not look right, something is difficult to read, or you have an idea for the theme, please open an issue.

When reporting a problem, it helps if you include:

  • Your VS Code version
  • Your operating system
  • The language or file type where you noticed the issue
  • A screenshot, if possible

Say hello

I'm Himanshu Dubey. I build software, make videos and spend probably too much time tweaking things in my editor.

If you enjoy the theme, a star on GitHub or a review on the Marketplace is always appreciated. It helps me know that the theme is useful to other developers too.
