LoopCode is a coding agent that works in your project: it reads the code, plans the change, edits
files and runs commands, and asks before anything risky. This extension puts it in VS Code — the same
agent as the LoopCode desktop app and the loopcode command line, with the same account and plan.
Get started
Open a project folder.
Click the LoopCode icon in the activity bar (or press ⌘ Esc on macOS, Ctrl+Esc on Windows and Linux).
Sign in with your browser. Approve the code shown in VS Code, and you're in. Already signed in
with loopcode login in the terminal? Then you're signed in here too.
Works in your workspace. Reads and searches the code, edits files, runs your tests and commands —
in the folder you have open, on your machine.
Asks first. Choose how much it may do on its own: ask before every edit, auto-approve edits, or
plan first and wait for your go-ahead. Commands always show what will run.
Shows its work. Every change arrives as a diff, every command with its output, and a long task
keeps a live checklist.
Context from the editor. Select code and press ⌘⌥K / Ctrl+Alt+K (or right-click →
Add Selection to LoopCode) to add it to your message. File paths in answers open in the editor.
Images. Paste or drop a screenshot into the message.
Your conversations stay. Pick up any earlier conversation in this folder from the list at the top.
One plan everywhere. The app, the terminal and VS Code share your plan's usage; the chip in the
header shows how much of the current window you've used.

Requirements
VS Code 1.95 or newer (also works in editors built on VS Code, such as Cursor).
A trusted workspace: LoopCode edits files and runs commands, so it stays off in Restricted Mode.
Remote SSH, WSL, Dev Containers and Codespaces work: LoopCode runs where your code is.
Privacy
Your code stays on your machine except for what the agent sends to the model to answer you.
