Coding Pet House
Cute virtual pets in a multi-story pet house while you code. Original artwork, room decorating, and a simple focus reward system.
Features
- Pets: sheep, dog, cat, duck, bunny, pig, unicorn, squirrel, giraffe — each with a custom name and happiness bar (shown on hover)
- Multi-story house: unlock 1–4 floors and switch freely between owned levels
- Toolbar (top right):
- + — add a pet
- Delete — remove pets
- Gift — gift a pet (raises happiness)
- Options — coins, backgrounds, stories, and furniture shops
- Default background: plain white
- Starter items: free square window and starter bed on new saves
- Furniture: drag to move anywhere, click for seat/delete menu, hover for name
- Seating: seat pets on beds, couches, and other furniture; drag off or use Remove to unseat
- Earn coins by keeping VS Code focused:
- 10 coins every 5 minutes of continuous focus
- Bonus rewards at 1, 2, and 5 hour streaks
- Timer resets when you leave the editor window

Getting started
- Install Coding Pet House from the Extensions panel
- Click the Coding Pet House icon in the activity bar
- Press + to add your first pet
- Keep coding with the window focused to earn coins

Coding Pet House: Focus Pets View — open the pets panelCoding Pet House: Reset All Progress — wipe pets, coins, and purchases
Privacy
All progress is stored locally in VS Code global state on your machine. Nothing is sent to a server.
