Provena

Provena is a system that allows students to show for their work on programming assignments and receive credit for their effort. It also gives instructors confidence about the authorship of students' programming submissions.

Setup

Once you have installed provena, follow the setup instructions in the walkthrough. If you do not see a walkthrough, you can click on the "Set up Provena" status bar message.

1. Activate or deactivate Provena for your worksapce: you should only activate Provena for workspaces where you do schoolwork, since it will record your work sessions.
2. Sign in with your school Google account: to authenticate your work, sign in with your school Google account.
3. Work on your programming assignments, and Provena will automatically record your work and send it to your instructor.

Provena can work offiline, but make sure you have internet access and allow Provena to sync at least once before submitting your assignment. Syncing will happen automatically as you work, but you can manually trigger it if you see that Provena is unable to connect in the status bar of VS Code.
