Overview

SailPoint IIQ Studio is a Visual Studio Code extension designed to simplify SailPoint IdentityIQ development.

It provides a modern development experience with direct IdentityIQ integration, allowing developers to import, edit, compare, refresh, and deploy IdentityIQ objects without leaving VS Code.

Install from the Visual Studio Code Marketplace.

Or manually install the VSIX package.

⚠️ Prerequisites

SailPoint Studio uses a deployment workflow inside IdentityIQ to enable advanced operations.

The following features require the workflow to be installed:

• ✅ Import Object
• ✅ Refresh Object
• ✅ Deploy Object
• ✅ Compare Object

Step 1 - Download the Workflow

Download the workflow XML from GitHub:

Click Download Raw File (or Raw) and save the XML file locally.

Step 2 - Import into IdentityIQ

Login to your IdentityIQ environment.

Navigate to:

System Setup
    └── Import from File

Select:

Workflow-SailPointStudioImporter.xml

Click Import.

If your application server requires it, restart IdentityIQ after the import.

Step 3 - Verify Installation

Open SailPoint Studio in VS Code.

1. Add your IdentityIQ server.
2. Test the connection.
3. Import or Deploy an object.

If the workflow has been installed successfully, all deployment features will work automatically.

Notes

• The workflow only needs to be imported once per IdentityIQ environment.
• If you have multiple environments (DEV, UAT, QA, PROD), import the workflow into each environment separately.
• Existing workflows can be updated by importing a newer version of the workflow.

Note: The deployment workflow is required only for Import, Refresh, Deploy, and Compare operations. Basic server management and connection testing do not require the workflow.

1. Add Server

Open the SailPoint Activity Bar.

Edit XML normally inside VS Code.

Right-click XML

Compare with IdentityIQ

Compare with Environment

6. Refresh

Right-click XML

Refresh Current XML

Latest version is downloaded from IdentityIQ.

7. Deploy

Right-click XML

Deploy Current XML

Deploys only the selected object.

8. Bulk Deploy

Right-click folder

Bulk Deploy Folder

Deploys every XML file inside the selected folder.
