Greedy Krab

Watch ads in a panel beside the editor while Claude Code or Codex answers, and earn KRAB when the server accepts the display. Sign in, finish account setup and connect a tool to get started. Available in Korea, Japan and the United States without an invitation.

Get started

Requires desktop VS Code 1.82+ and a Greedy Krab account. Claude Code needs version 2.1.287+. Codex hooks need Node.js.

1. Run Greedy Krab: Sign in and finish account setup, the current terms and ad counting consent.
2. Run Greedy Krab: Connect Claude Code and/or Greedy Krab: Connect Codex. For Codex, trust the five Greedy Krab hooks in Codex Settings → Hooks. Start a new conversation after connecting.
3. Work as usual. While the tool answers, an ad panel opens beside the editor without taking focus.

What the panel shows

• A paid text creative starts small automatic rewards without a display check. Each continuous 5 seconds charges 1.25% of the campaign impression bid; your share is 50%. The panel shows server-confirmed progress and fractional KRAB.
• A paid image or video creative keeps its per-ad check and 15-second display threshold, charged at the campaign impression bid with a 50% member share.
• Opening a text ad requires a separate check inside the panel after its first credited block. A valid click uses the campaign click bid and 50% member share. Verification time never counts as display time.
• A labelled preview that earns nothing, when signed in with ads enabled but no paid ad is available, the service is paused or offline, an update is needed, or the server is not ready for the panel.

Signing out, turning ads off or temporarily hiding ads closes every ad surface and stops display counting. Use Hide ads temporarily in the Greedy Krab menu for 1, 3 or 8 hours, or enter 0.5–168 hours. The pause survives restarts and ends automatically; Show ads again ends it sooner. VS Code and the separate npm CLI keep their own pause settings.

Image ads require extension 0.0.31+. The original image appears in the panel; its caption alone does not count. An image that has not loaded, failed to load or is hidden earns nothing and cannot open the advertiser's link.

The status bar says Rewards possible only when a paid ad is ready. What is earned is decided by the server's receipt and shown in your wallet; existing account, country and reward limits apply.

Time counts while the panel is visible, VS Code is in front and the tool is answering. A tool run or permission wait pauses it; an unfinished text block restarts from zero while completed rewards stay credited. Text and image displays end with the answer. Hiding or closing the panel, leaving the window, signing out or a new ad ends the current display. A response ending before a full 5-second text block earns nothing for that block; the panel says so. Only one display can run for an account at a time.

Video starts muted; use Play/Pause and Unmute/Mute. The layout follows the video.

From extension 0.0.32, a valid video pauses when AI generation stops and resumes from its playhead when generation resumes in the same Claude Code or Codex session. The same account, device, creative and display grant must remain valid. Only visible playback with advancing frames counts: pauses, hidden time, buffering and seeking do not count. Valid 8 seconds plus a pause plus valid 7 seconds reaches the 15-second threshold; the same display earns once. Hiding or closing the panel, losing window focus, changing the tool/session, account or creative, turning ads off or withdrawing consent ends continuity. Expiry or a new display grant starts a new check and total; previous time is not transferred. Reloads and app restarts do not restore continuity.

The panel's column is about as wide as the ad (440 px) instead of half the editor area. Set greedykrab.officialAds.panelWidth to change it (320 to 1200), or to 0 for VS Code's own width. It is sized once, when the panel opens, and only when the window has just one other editor group, so your own arrangement of editor groups is never rearranged and a width you drag it to is left alone.

Text format

Set Official Claude·Codex ad format (menu, or greedykrab.officialAds.claudeCode and greedykrab.officialAds.codex) to text for a tool to see only a preview line below the chat or in the status bar. The text format earns no rewards. Remote windows (WSL, SSH, containers) use text because the panel cannot play there.

The separate npm CLI terminal pilot uses 30-second blocks at 5% of the impression bid; it does not enable rewards in VS Code's integrated terminal or the text-format setting.

Not supported: Codex outside VS Code, OpenCode and Cursor's built-in AI. Greedy Krab no longer starts or reads a Claude terminal; its former commands and settings are gone.

Privacy and local changes

• Greedy Krab does not collect or upload AI prompts, code, conversations, output, tool input or screenshots for ads or verification.
• The Claude Code plugin forwards event, session and turn identifiers to a receiver on this computer; Codex hooks also forward the working folder to it. Nothing else leaves your tools through them.
• The ad panel only checks whether it is visible, whether an image loaded with real dimensions and, for a video, whether its frames move forward. Image dimensions stay in the local panel visibility check.
• The Claude integration installs the Greedy Krab companion plugin. Version 0.0.33 removes Greedy Krab's old static spinnerVerbs text and restores your previous value unless you changed it yourself. The Codex integration adds five hooks that you choose to trust; disconnecting removes only Greedy Krab hooks. Vendor binaries and extension bundles are not patched.
• The service receives account and consent information and limited ad events: ad identifiers, timestamps, device identifiers, tool versions and display timing reports. Authentication credentials use VS Code SecretStorage and an encrypted local recovery copy.
• Cloudflare Turnstile handles browser, IP and connection signals on Greedy Krab's verification page. It reduces automated abuse; it does not independently prove physical screen exposure or AI execution.

Help and removal

Use Greedy Krab: Diagnostics to check setup. Use the disconnect commands to remove an integration. Undo old patches turns ad rewards off and checks historical backups before restoring files; a changed or missing backup is left for manual recovery.

상태 표시줄의 적립 가능은 적립용 광고가 준비됐다는 뜻일 뿐, 적립 여부와 금액은 서버가 정하며 지갑에서 확인합니다. 패널 텍스트는 5초마다 노출 입찰가의 1.25%를 청구하고 그중 50%를 적립합니다. 이미지·영상은 일반 노출 입찰가, 텍스트 광고 클릭은 별도 확인 후 클릭 입찰가 전액을 기준으로 50%를 적립합니다. 도구 실행·권한 대기는 미완료 5초를 초기화하며 이미 적립된 금액은 유지됩니다. 텍스트·이미지 표시는 답변 종료로 끝나며, 숨김·창 이동·로그아웃·광고 변경은 현재 표시를 종료합니다. 텍스트 형식(설정 greedykrab.officialAds.*)은 적립이 없고, 원격 창은 텍스트만 지원합니다. VS Code 없이 쓰는 Codex와 OpenCode, Cursor는 지원하지 않습니다. 관리 터미널은 없어졌습니다.

확장 0.0.32부터 같은 Claude Code·Codex 세션에서 AI 생성이 멈추면 유효한 영상을 일시정지하고, 다음 생성 때 이전 재생 위치에서 이어봅니다. 같은 계정·기기·소재·표시 허가가 유효해야 합니다. 화면에 보이고 프레임이 실제로 진행한 재생 시간만 집계하며 정지·숨김·버퍼링·탐색 시간은 제외합니다. 유효 8초 + 정지 + 유효 7초는 15초이고, 같은 표시의 적립은 한 번입니다. 패널 숨김·종료, 창 포커스 상실, 도구·세션·계정·소재 변경, 광고 끄기·동의 철회는 이어보기를 종료합니다. 만료나 새 표시 허가에는 다시 확인하고 0초부터 시작하며 이전 시간을 옮기지 않습니다. 새로고침·앱 재시작 뒤 복원은 지원하지 않습니다.

광고 패널 칸의 너비는 편집기 영역의 절반 대신 광고에 맞춘 약 440px입니다. greedykrab.officialAds.panelWidth로 바꾸거나(320~1200), 0이면 VS Code 기본 너비를 씁니다. 패널이 열릴 때 한 번, 창에 다른 편집기 그룹이 하나뿐일 때만 맞추므로 직접 꾸린 그룹 배치는 바뀌지 않고, 끌어서 바꾼 너비도 그대로 둡니다.

광고와 확인을 위해 프롬프트·코드·대화·출력·도구 입력·화면을 수집하거나 업로드하지 않습니다. Claude 플러그인과 Codex 훅은 이벤트·세션 식별자(Codex는 작업 폴더도)를 이 컴퓨터의 VS Code에만 전달합니다. 서버에는 계정·동의와 광고 집계 정보만 전달합니다. 확인 페이지의 Turnstile은 IP·브라우저·연결 신호를 처리합니다.

Claude CodeやCodexの応答中に、エディターの横の広告パネルで広告を見て、サーバーが表示を認めるとKRABを獲得できます。韓国・日本・米国ではアカウント設定と現行規約への同意を済ませれば、招待なしで開始できます。

1. Greedy Krab: ログインからアカウント設定・利用規約・広告集計への同意を完了してください。
2. Claude Codeを接続、Codexを接続を実行します。Codexは設定 → HooksでGreedy Krabフック5つを信頼してください。接続後は新しい会話を始めます。
3. 応答中、エディターの横に広告パネルが開きます。テキスト広告は確認ボタンなしで連続5秒ごとに少額を自動加算します。画像・動画は広告ごとの確認と有効な15秒の表示が必要です。広告がない場合は報酬なしのプレビューと理由が表示されます。

画像広告は拡張機能0.0.31以降で元の画像を表示します。説明文だけでは表示を計測せず、読み込めない画像や非表示の画像は報酬と広告を開く操作の対象になりません。

ログアウトまたは広告オフで、プレビューを含む広告を非表示にします。メニューの広告を一時的に非表示で1・3・8時間、または0.5〜168時間を設定できます。再起動後も維持し、期限になると自動解除します。広告を再表示から先に解除することもできます。非表示中は表示時間を計測しません。VS Codeとnpm CLIの非表示設定は別々です。

ステータスバーの報酬を獲得できますは報酬対象の広告が準備できたという意味で、報酬の有無と額はサーバーが決め、ウォレットで確認できます。パネルのテキスト広告は5秒ごとに表示入札額の1.25%を請求し、その50%を加算します。画像・動画は通常の表示入札額、テキスト広告のクリックは別途確認した後のクリック入札額全額を基準に50%を加算します。ツール実行・権限待ちでは未完了の5秒をリセットし、確定報酬は残ります。テキスト・画像の表示は応答終了で終わり、非表示・ウィンドウ移動・ログアウト・広告変更は現在の表示を終了します。テキスト形式（設定greedykrab.officialAds.*）に報酬はなく、リモートウィンドウではテキストのみです。VS Codeを使わないCodex、OpenCode、Cursorは非対応です。管理ターミナルは廃止されました。

拡張機能0.0.32から、同じClaude Code・CodexセッションでAI生成が止まると有効な動画を一時停止し、次の生成時に元の再生位置から再開します。同じアカウント・端末・素材・表示許可が有効である必要があります。画面に見え、フレームが実際に進む再生時間だけを集計し、停止・非表示・バッファリング・シーク中は除外します。有効な8秒＋停止＋有効な7秒で15秒となり、同じ表示への加算は一度だけです。パネルの非表示・終了、ウィンドウのフォーカス喪失、ツール・セッション・アカウント・素材の変更、広告オフ・同意撤回で継続を終了します。期限切れや新しい表示許可では再確認して0秒から始め、以前の時間を引き継ぎません。再読み込み・アプリ再起動後の復元は非対応です。

広告パネルの列の幅は、エディター領域の半分ではなく広告に合わせた約440pxです。greedykrab.officialAds.panelWidthで変更でき（320〜1200）、0ならVS Code標準の幅になります。パネルを開くときに一度だけ、ほかのエディターグループが1つだけのときに限って合わせるので、自分で組んだグループの配置は変わらず、ドラッグで変えた幅もそのままです。

広告や確認のためにプロンプト・コード・会話・出力・ツール入力・画面を収集したりアップロードしたりしません。ClaudeプラグインとCodexフックは、イベントとセッションの識別子（Codexは作業フォルダーも）をこのコンピューターのVS Codeだけに渡します。サーバーにはアカウント・同意と広告集計情報を送信します。確認ページのTurnstileはIP・ブラウザー・接続シグナルを処理します。
