GOL Check

This is a thin wrapper. The one location for Check (install, hook mode, MCP, CLI, and the HTTP contract) is check.golproductions.com · golproductions/check. Integrate from there.

Ask Check before you run it.

Validate any shell command against the Check engine from inside VS Code: command palette, clipboard, or selected text. The verdict comes back in one round trip: runnable or invalid. Deterministic, no AI inside.

With terminal shell integration enabled, Check also reviews commands you run in the integrated terminal and reports any invalid ones. This extension validates and reports; the automatic pre-execution gate for AI agents is the hook, one command below.

Setup

  1. Install the extension

That's it. Check activates a free key on first run. No signup, no key to paste.

Pricing

120 free checks every day. Then $0.0068 AUD per check. Credits never expire.

Bring your own key (optional)

A key is minted for you. To reuse an existing Client ID, set golCheck.clientId in your settings.

The automatic gate

The pre-execution hook blocks hallucinated commands before they run in Claude Code, Cursor, and Gemini CLI, and any MCP client can call the same engine. Install from the one location:

npx @golproductions/check --install
