Overview

Trello Nanagement is a lightweight, offline-first kanban extension for Visual Studio Code. Manage tasks, track progress, and organize your work right where you code.

No external tools. No accounts. No cloud sync. Everything runs locally.

Note: Trello Manager is an independent, community-built extension. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Atlassian or the official Trello product.

Installation

VS Code Marketplace

  1. Open Extensions (Ctrl+Shift+X / Cmd+Shift+X)
  2. Search for Trello Manager
  3. Click Install

From VSIX

  1. Open the Extensions menu
  2. Select Install from VSIX
  3. Choose your downloaded file

Getting Started

Open the board with the keyboard shortcut:

Platform Shortcut
Windows/Linux Ctrl+Alt+B
macOS Cmd+Alt+B

Workspaces

Create a workspace

  1. Click New
  2. Enter a workspace name and your display name
  3. Share the generated invite code with your team

Join a workspace

  1. Click Join
  2. Enter the invite code
  3. Enter your display name

Task Manager

  • Click + Add Item to create a new task
  • Click any card to open and edit it
  • Move tasks between columns from within the edit modal
  • Add tags, priority, checklists, and notes as needed
  • Delete tasks from the item view

Edit task Click the task card
Delete task Inside the task modal
Close modal Esc or click outside

Troubleshooting

Issue Fix
Panel won't open Reload VS Code (Developer: Reload Window)
Icon missing Reinstall the extension
Invite code not working Double-check for O vs 0 confusion
Data missing Check your VS Code profile (data is stored locally per profile)
Shortcut conflict Rebind the shortcut in Keyboard Shortcuts settings
