Solidity Language Support Extension

This extension provides comprehensive and lightweight support for the Solidity language in Visual Studio Code, including:

  • Syntax highlighting
  • Code completion (via snippets)
  • Basic linting and error diagnostics
  • Snippets for common Solidity constructs

Features

  • Solidity grammar for .sol files
  • Language configuration for comments, brackets, and auto-closing pairs
  • Snippets for contracts, functions, and events

Usage

Open any .sol file in VS Code to activate Solidity language features. Use the provided snippets by typing their prefixes (e.g., solfunc, solcontract).

Extension Structure

  • package.json: Extension manifest and contributions
  • syntaxes/javascript.tmLanguage.json: Solidity grammar
  • language-configuration.json: Language configuration
  • snippets/solidity.json: Solidity code snippets

Credits

This extension is inspired by and credits Juan Blanco for his original Solidity extension. This version is extended with more functionality and is designed to be more lightweight and easier to maintain.

Next Steps

To add advanced features like linting, code completion, and diagnostics, implement a language server or use existing Solidity tools.
