Requirements
Getting Started
Install the Local Server
pip install llama-cpp-python fastapi "uvicorn[standard]"
Download a Llama Model
Recommended: CodeLlama-7B-Instruct-GGUF
Place in your models directory
Start the Server
python code_assistant.py
Use the Extension
Open any code file
Press Cmd+Shift+P
(Mac) or Ctrl+Shift+P
(Windows/Linux)
Type "Code Assistant" to see available commands

Extension Settings
This extension contributes the following settings:
codeAssistant.serverUrl
: URL of the local Llama server (default: "http://localhost:8000")
Initial startup:
Model loading: 30-60 seconds
First request: 10-20 seconds
Subsequent requests: 2-5 seconds
Troubleshooting
Server Won't Start
Check Python version

Ensure port 8000 is available

Reduce file size
