Laikn is an experimental assistant designed to help developers consider the environmental impact of their compute tasks. By analyzing real-time weather patterns and grid data, Laikn suggests the greenest available data centers for your next job.
Note: Laikn provides routing suggestions based on current environmental factors. It does not automatically move or execute your cloud workloads, keeping you in full control of your infrastructure.
Features
Real-Time Analysis: Fetches live wind, solar, and temperature data to find the best region right now.
Physics-Based Logic: Uses hub-height wind speeds (80m) and cubic power formulas for accurate renewable energy estimation.
Global Reach: Monitors 12+ major cloud regions across North America, Europe, and Asia.
Analytics Dashboard: A private dashboard to track your potential carbon savings over time.
Getting Started
To find the optimal path for your next task, you can:
Right-click anywhere in your editor and select Laikn: Eco-Route.
Click the Laikn icon in the bottom status bar of the editor.
The extension will ask which regions you have access to and provide a detailed analysis of the most sustainable options.
Development Status
This project is in continuous development and is a Proof of Concept (PoC) for smarter engineering standards. We stay humble and are always open to suggestions, feedback, or collaborations to make code routing more sustainable!
