More Info

You can use this extension in Visual Studio Code for Windows. A version for Visual Studio 2022 is available as a separate extension: DevExpress Template Kit for Visual Studio.

These new extensions are currently available as Community Technology Preview versions. They are designed to replace our existing Project Template Gallery (part of our Unified Component Installer) when RTM versions ship in 2025.

The new wizard offers the following benefits compared to the previous version:

  • The use of dotnet CLI that enables compatibility with various IDEs and platforms. We plan to extend support to Rider and additional operating systems in the future.

  • Templates target a broader range of usage scenarios. They support hybrid app development and modern technologies such as Blazor Hybrid, .NET MAUI, and MVVM.

The new DevExpress Template Gallery includes project templates for .NET 8+ and C# only:

  • ASP.NET Core | Get Started
  • Blazor | Get Started
  • WinForms | Get Started
  • WPF | Get Started
  • .NET MAUI | Get Started
  • Reporting | Get Started
  • Dashboard | Get Started
  • XAF - Cross-Platform .NET | Get Started

  3. Enter the project name in the command bar on the top.
  4. Select the target folder for your project.

To ensure that your project can access required DevExpress NuGet packages, run the DevExpress Unified Component Installer or register the online DevExpress NuGet Feed in your IDE/CLI (if you have not done so yet). For additional information, review the following help articles:
