CreonAI for VS Code
15+ AI agents that build, code and deploy, right inside your editor. Describe what you want and CreonAI plans, reads your files, writes and edits code, runs commands and ships results, all from the sidebar.
Features
- Agent mode. Give it a task and it works autonomously: plans the steps, reads and searches your code, writes and edits files, runs commands, and shows every step in a live run card.
- Smart code navigation. Uses the editor's own language servers to find symbols, jump to definitions, list references and outline files, so it goes straight to the right place instead of guessing.
- Chat mode. Fast conversational answers about your code without tool access.
- Works with your choice of model. Sign in with CreonAI, bring your own Anthropic key, use a free Groq key, or run fully offline with local Ollama models.
- Live file edits. Changes are written to disk and shown as a diff you can open in the editor.
Getting started
Install the extension, open the CreonAI panel from the activity bar, then pick one of these ways to run it:
- Sign in with CreonAI. Create a free account at creonai.io and sign in from the panel. Usage runs on CreonAI credits.
- Free, with your own Groq key. Get a free key at console.groq.com (no card needed), add it in VS Code Settings under
creonai.groqApiKey, then pick a Groq model in the model dropdown.
- Your own Anthropic key. Add it in Settings under
creonai.anthropicApiKey to run Claude directly.
- Fully offline. Install Ollama, pull a model, and pick an Ollama option in the dropdown. Nothing leaves your machine.

Privacy and data
- Your prompts, and the contents of files the agent reads or edits, are sent to the model provider you choose: Anthropic, Groq or OpenRouter, or kept on your machine if you use Ollama.
- When you are signed in to CreonAI, requests also go to the CreonAI backend for authentication and credit accounting.
- API keys are stored only in your local VS Code settings. They are never bundled with the extension or sent anywhere except the provider they belong to.
- Errors may be reported to CreonAI to help fix bugs. No code or keys are included in those reports.
