CRON Lens

A Visual Studio Code extension that detects CRON expressions in your code and displays their schedules in a human-readable format inline.

Features

  • Automatically detects CRON expressions in various file types
  • Displays human-readable descriptions of CRON schedules as CodeLens items
  • Supports JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Java, YAML, and JSON files

Usage

Simply open a file containing CRON expressions, and the extension will automatically display the human-readable schedule above each CRON expression.

For example, for a CRON expression like 0 0 * * *, the extension will display:

This extension contributes the following settings:

  • cronLens.enabled: Enable/disable the CRON Lens extension

Requirements

No additional requirements or dependencies needed.

Known Issues

  • The CRON expression detection might not catch all formats or variations
  • Very complex CRON expressions might not be parsed correctly
