ClipSafe for VS Code
Send any selected code snippet from VS Code straight to ClipSafe without leaving the editor.
Features
- One command: send the current selection to ClipSafe.
- Default shortcut: Ctrl+Shift+Alt+S (Cmd+Shift+Alt+S on macOS).
- Helpful prompts if there is no active editor, no selection, or ClipSafe is not running.
Requirements
- ClipSafe desktop app running (the extension writes to the ClipSafe).
- VS Code 1.109.0 or newer.
Install
- Open the VS Code Extensions view.
- Search for "ClipSafe" and install ClipSafe for VS Code.
- Keep ClipSafe running so the pipe is available.
Use
- Select the code you want to save.
- Press Ctrl+Shift+Alt+S (or Cmd+Shift+Alt+S on macOS), or run "ClipSafe: Send Snippet to ClipSafe" from the Command Palette.
- Look for the success notification in VS Code; ClipSafe will show the snippet in your list.
Troubleshooting
- "ClipSafe is not running." — start the ClipSafe desktop app.
- "No code selected." — highlight the snippet before sending.
- Still stuck? Try restarting VS Code and ClipSafe, then retry.
