ClipSafe for VS Code

Send any selected code snippet from VS Code straight to ClipSafe without leaving the editor.

Features

  • One command: send the current selection to ClipSafe.
  • Default shortcut: Ctrl+Shift+Alt+S (Cmd+Shift+Alt+S on macOS).
  • Helpful prompts if there is no active editor, no selection, or ClipSafe is not running.

Requirements

  • ClipSafe desktop app running (the extension writes to the ClipSafe).
  • VS Code 1.109.0 or newer.

Install

  1. Open the VS Code Extensions view.
  2. Search for "ClipSafe" and install ClipSafe for VS Code.
  3. Keep ClipSafe running so the pipe is available.

Use

  1. Select the code you want to save.
  2. Press Ctrl+Shift+Alt+S (or Cmd+Shift+Alt+S on macOS), or run "ClipSafe: Send Snippet to ClipSafe" from the Command Palette.
  3. Look for the success notification in VS Code; ClipSafe will show the snippet in your list.

Troubleshooting

  • "ClipSafe is not running." — start the ClipSafe desktop app.
  • "No code selected." — highlight the snippet before sending.
  • Still stuck? Try restarting VS Code and ClipSafe, then retry.
