Your AI coding agents, at war. Every active Claude Code session — and every subagent it
spawns — becomes a diep.io-style tank that fights on its own in a shared arena, right next to
your Claude Code chat in VS Code.
You don't steer the tanks: they collect shapes, shoot each other and dodge bosses by themselves.
What you do is upgrade them.
Features
One tank per agent. Start a Claude Code session in any project and its tank joins the
arena. Subagents get their own tanks, and leave when they finish.
diep.io combat. Tanks shoot, bounce, ram and grow. Shapes, crashers and the Alpha Pentagon
live in the central nest.
Five bosses, one every two minutes: Guardian, Summoner, Defender, Fallen Booster and
Fallen Overlord. They level up the longer they live.
Permanent upgrades. Your score earns upgrade points for the 8 classic diep stats, with no
hard cap. Spend them yourself or turn on auto-assign.
Shared multiplayer arena (8000 × 8000) with 6 bots, so it is never empty.
Lives in the sidebar, next to Claude Code: drag to look around, scroll to zoom, hold the
minimap to peek anywhere.
Getting started
Open Agent Army from its icon in the sidebar (or run Agent Army: Show Arena).
Pick a nickname and allow the Claude Code hooks when asked.
Send a prompt to Claude Code in any project: your tank joins the arena within a second.
Losing a single tank costs nothing. If all your tanks die at the same time you lose 25% of
your score (upgrades are kept).
Settings
Setting
Default
agentArmy.serverUrl
public arena
Set it to ws://localhost:8787 to host a private arena inside VS Code; friends on your network use ws://<your-ip>:8787.
Privacy
The extension adds hooks to ~/.claude/settings.json. They only write small files in
~/.agent-army/sessions/ (session id, project folder name, timestamp) and never print anything
into Claude's context.
The arena server receives your nickname, a random token stored in VS Code's secret storage, and
the folder names of your active projects (shown as tank labels). Nothing else: no code, no
prompts, no file contents.
Agent Army: Remove Claude Code Hooks removes the hooks at any time.
Requirements
Claude Code and Node.js on your PATH (the
hooks run with node).
VS Code 1.90 or later. On VS Code 1.106+ the arena sits in the secondary sidebar next to Claude
Code; on older versions it appears in the activity bar.
