Old Book

A low-distraction color theme styled after an old book or newspaper page: a soft, barely-tinted gray background, no bold or italic anywhere, and a near-monochrome sepia ink palette for syntax — with just two deliberate accents:

  • Keywords (if, for, switch, return, func, var, type, ...) are set in a muted ink-blue, like old fountain pen ink, so logic-block boundaries are easy to scan at a glance.
  • Matching brackets get a brass/gold highlight box so you can always spot the pair your cursor is on.

The theme leans on semantic highlighting, so it's tuned especially well for Go: structs, interfaces, functions, methods, parameters, and struct fields each get their own shade in the ink hierarchy, instead of looking identical the way plain TextMate grammars often render them.

Install

Search for Old Book in the Extensions view, or run:

ext install buddhike.oldbook

Then open the Command Palette → Preferences: Color Theme → Old Book.
