BoltzVibe for VS Code

BoltzVibe is an AI coding agent built by Boltzbit, integrated directly into VS Code. Its core strength is deep integration with BoltzHub — Boltzbit's app platform that gives your projects a dynamic backend, database, and server-side code execution out of the box.

Built Around BoltzHub

BoltzHub is what sets BoltzVibe apart. When you build with BoltzVibe, your app gets:

  • Dynamic Backend Database — a fully managed, per-app PostgreSQL database with a REST API, ready to use without any setup
  • DPYES (Dynamic Python Execution Service) — run server-side Python functions and scripts directly from your app, with no infrastructure to manage
  • Instant Deployment — push your app to BoltzHub and share it with users straight from the chat panel

BoltzVibe knows how to talk to all of these services, so you can ask it to create tables, write backend logic, query data, and deploy — all in plain language.

Template-First Approach

The fastest way to start is with a BoltzHub template. Templates come pre-wired with:

  • AI Chat — a ready-to-use conversational interface, connected to your backend
  • Pebble — Boltzbit's UI component system, giving you a polished, consistent front end from day one

Rather than building from scratch, you start with a working foundation and let BoltzVibe extend it to fit your needs.

What It Does

  • Understands your codebase — ask questions, get explanations, and navigate your project with context-aware answers
  • Writes and edits code — generate new features, fix bugs, or refactor across multiple files
  • Runs commands — executes shell commands, installs packages, and runs tests as part of completing tasks
  • Plans before acting — use Plan Mode to review and approve an approach before any changes are made
  • Supports images and files — paste screenshots or attach files to give the agent more context

Getting Started

  1. Install the extension from the VS Code Marketplace
  2. Sign in to your Boltzbit account when prompted
  3. Click the BoltzVibe icon in the sidebar to open the chat panel
  4. Type /new-app-from-template to start from a BoltzHub template, or describe what you want to build

Key Features

BoltzHub Integration

BoltzVibe can create and manage your app's database tables, write and execute Python backend code via DPYES, and deploy to BoltzHub — all from the chat panel.

Template-First Building

Start with a template that includes AI Chat and Pebble pre-configured. Skip the boilerplate and go straight to building what makes your app unique.

Tool Permissions

When the agent wants to run a command or make a change, you'll be prompted to Allow, Always Allow, or Deny — giving you full control over what it does.

Plan Mode

Press Shift+Tab to switch into Plan Mode. The agent will design an approach and present it for your approval before writing any code.

Slash Commands

Type / to access quick commands for BoltzHub actions, template creation, and other workflows.
