BMC AMI DevX Workbench Abend-AID offers automatic detection, analysis and diagnosis of mainframe application and system abends. Developers and operations teams can reduce the time and effort required to identify and resolve mainframe application and system abends. The information will be captured real time across multiple environments reducing downtime.

Prerequisites

• Visual Studio Code version 1.126
• BMC AMI DevX Workbench Explorer downloaded and installed from Visual Studio Code Marketplace

Use Cases

• Analyze an abended job
  • Open the Abend-AID report viewer from Job Explorer to review the abend code, failing program, and diagnostic details.
• Investigate abends during debugging
  • When a program abends during a debug session, open the Abend-AID report viewer directly from the active debug session.
• Faster root cause analysis
  • Use the structured Abend-AID report to quickly identify the cause of application and system abends.

Getting Started

• Go to the DevX Explorer extension and create HCI connection and login to HCI connection
• Open Job Explorer view from View-> Open View-> Job Explorer
• Open an Abend-AID report from Job Explorer or from an active debug session when a program abends.
