Overview

Pulse Board is a lightweight, offline-first kanban extension for Visual Studio Code. It helps you manage tasks, track progress, and organize work directly inside your development environment.

No external tools. No accounts. No cloud sync. Everything runs locally.

Installation

VS Code Marketplace

  1. Open Extensions (Ctrl+Shift+X / Cmd+Shift+X)
  2. Search for Pulse Board
  3. Click Install

Or install via VSIX:

  • Extensions menu, then Install from VSIX

Getting Started

Shortcut:

  • Windows/Linux: Ctrl+Alt+B
  • macOS: Cmd+Alt+B

Workspaces

Create a workspace

  • Click New
  • Enter workspace name and display name
  • Share the generated invite code

Join a workspace

  • Click Join
  • Enter invite code
  • Enter your display name

Task Management

  • Click + Add Item to create tasks
  • Click any card to edit
  • Move tasks between columns in the modal
  • Add tags, priority, checklists, and notes
  • Delete tasks from the item view
