A complementary extension that provides VS Code context (current project and file) to the Work Timer Chrome Extension.

🎯 How It Works

This extension creates a local HTTP server that shares information about what you're editing in VS Code:

• 📁 Current project: Workspace name
• 📄 Active file: File path being edited
• 💻 Language: File type (TypeScript, Python, etc.)

The Work Timer Chrome Extension consumes this information to contextualize your work sessions, allowing you to know which project and file you were working on during each period.

✨ Multiple Windows Support

The extension now supports multiple VS Code windows open simultaneously!

• Each window registers its context independently
• The HTTP server shares data from all active windows
• The Chrome extension captures contexts from all projects/files worked on
• Inactive contexts are automatically removed after 10 seconds

⚙️ Configuration

The extension starts automatically when VS Code opens. An HTTP server is created on port 57432 (or the next available if occupied).

Check if it's working

Access in your browser: http://localhost:57432/health

You'll see:

🔗 Requirements

Important: This extension works in conjunction with the Work Timer Chrome Extension. Install both to enjoy the complete integration.

Common issues:

Port already in use: The server will automatically try ports 57432 through 57441. Check the Output Channel to see which port was used.

Chrome Extension not connecting: Make sure at least one VS Code window with the extension is running (check the Output Channel).

Multiple windows not appearing: Contexts are updated every 2 seconds. Wait a few seconds after opening a new window.

💡 Privacy

All data is processed locally. No information is sent to external servers.

Problemas comuns:

Porta já em uso: O servidor tentará automaticamente as portas 57432 até 57441. Verifique no Output Channel qual porta foi usada.

Extensão Chrome não conecta: Certifique-se que pelo menos uma janela do VS Code com a extensão está rodando (verifique o Output Channel).

Múltiplas janelas não aparecem: Os contextos são atualizados a cada 2 segundos. Aguarde alguns segundos após abrir uma nova janela.
