Extension Bar — User guide

Pin extensions as icons on the editor title bar. Click an icon to open that extension.

How to use

  1. Open any file (the title bar shows when a file is open).
  2. Click the gear on the right of the title bar.
  3. Turn an extension on in the list.
  4. Its extension icon appears on the title bar (hover shows the name). Click to open.
  5. Turn an extension off to remove its icon.
  6. Close Settings — the window may reload once so names and icons apply.

Shortcuts

Open pinned # Windows / Linux Mac
1–9 Ctrl+Alt+1 … 9 Cmd+Alt+1 … 9

Max icons

In editor Settings, look for Extension Bar → Max icons (default 6).
This limits how many pin icons show on the bar. Keep it low so icons stay visible instead of hiding under ….

If something looks wrong

  • No icons → open a file, then pin an extension from the gear.
  • Icons only under … → reload the window after pinning (Extension Bar pins them to the bar automatically). Or open … → Configure Icon Visibility and turn them on.
  • Still crowded → lower Max icons, and remove duplicate Extension Bar installs.
