Sbugger

Plays a sound when your code runs, when it errors, and when you git push.

Use it

Click 🔊 Sbugger in the status bar:

  • Mute Sbugger silences everything (the status bar turns 🔇). Click again to unmute.
  • Volume sets how loud Sbugger is (10–100%), separately from your computer's volume.
  • For Success, Error and Git push:
    • turn the sound on/off
    • open Sounds… to check which ones to use. Each time, one checked sound is picked at random (5 checked = each plays 1/5 of the time). ▶ previews one sound, 🗑 deletes it, and the buttons at the top play a random checked sound or + add your own audio or video files (mp3, wav, m4a, mov, mp4, …)

When it plays

Success Error Git push
Terminal (and ▶ Run Python File) command works command fails git push works
Jupyter notebook cells cell runs cell errors
Run / Debug (F5, Ctrl+F5) program finishes program crashes
Source Control push / sync button push works

Git push starts with the same built-in sound as Success. Quick commands like cd, ls and clear don't play the success sound. Ctrl+C and the debugger's Stop button play nothing. If the git push sound is off, a terminal git push plays the success sound instead.
