Wizards
Multiplayer wizard duels for 2–6 players, played entirely from the VS Code sidebar.
Pick a class, plan your spells and outlast everyone else. Match events stream into the Output panel as
a compact, dev-log style feed, and the status bar shows your HP, mana and action points at a glance.
Features
- Two game modes: classic (players take turns) and simultaneous (everyone plans in secret and
the round resolves in phases).
- 21 spells that combo with each other, and 17 status effects.
- 6 classes: Piromante, Criomante, Tormentario, Alquimista, Nigromante and Arcanista.
- 6 scenarios, random events announced by omens, wandering wizards that join mid-match, and a boss
that forces everyone into an alliance.
- Persistent profiles: ELO ranking, stats and collectible items that carry over between matches.
- Chat and whispers with the other players in the room.
- Encrypted connection (TLS-PSK). The access key is kept in VS Code's secret storage, not in
settings.json.
Getting started
Wizards is a client: you need a Wizards server to connect to.
- Open Settings (
Ctrl+,), search for Wizards and set:
- Host: the server address
- Port: the server port (default
7777)
- Name: your player name
- Run Wizards: Connect from the Command Palette (
Ctrl+Shift+P). The first time, you'll be asked
for the server's access key.
- Open the Explorer. The Wizards panel shows the room: pick a mode, choose a class, equip an item
and press start match.
How to play
Everything happens in the Wizards panel in the Explorer:
