TrackItNow

Fetches web content to auto-generate daily reports. Ideal coding agent for product managers, investors, and industry analysts.

TrackItNow is a VS Code extension designed to automate the process of gathering information from the web and compiling it into concise daily reports. It acts as an autonomous agent within your IDE.

(Note: This project is a fork of the original Cline project, adapted for specific crawling and reporting tasks.)

Features

  • Web Crawling: Automatically fetches content from specified web pages or sources.
  • Daily Report Generation: Processes crawled data and generates structured daily reports.
  • In-IDE Agent: Operates directly within Visual Studio Code.

Installation

  1. Open Visual Studio Code.
  2. Go to the Extensions view (Ctrl+Shift+X or Cmd+Shift+X).
  3. Search for "TrackItNow".
  4. Click "Install".

(Alternatively, you can install it from the VS Code Marketplace website or by installing the .vsix file manually.)

How to Use

  1. Open the TrackItNow sidebar in VS Code (usually found in the Activity Bar).
  2. Configure your crawling tasks (e.g., target URLs, frequency). (Specific configuration details might be needed)
  3. Initiate the crawling and report generation process via the TrackItNow interface.
  4. View the generated daily reports.

Configuration

For optimal performance, especially for analysis and report generation, we recommend configuring TrackItNow to use a powerful large language model. The latest models provide the best results:

  • Google Gemini 2.5 Pro
  • Anthropic Claude 3.7 Sonnet

(Please refer to the extension's settings within VS Code to configure the language model provider and specific model selection.)
