Run the official self-hosted ChartDB image locally from VS Code.
Requirements
VS Code 1.90 or newer
Docker installed and running
Use
Install the extension in VS Code.
Select the ChartDB icon in the Activity Bar and choose Start ChartDB,
or run ChartDB: Start Local from the Command Palette. On first run,
Docker downloads ghcr.io/chartdb/chartdb:latest.
Use ChartDB in the editor panel. The container listens only on
127.0.0.1; analytics are disabled.
ChartDB keeps working diagrams in browser-side storage; stopping the
container does not remove that data. Run ChartDB: Stop Local when
finished. The named Docker container is retained and can be started again
with the same command.
The local port defaults to 8080 and can be changed with the
chartdb-local.port setting. If you change the port after the container has
been created, remove the chartdb-vscode-local container in Docker and start
ChartDB again.
GitHub push and pull commands remain available from the VS Code Command
Palette; they do not add toolbar buttons to the ChartDB panel.
Development
npm install
npm run compile
Press F5 in VS Code to launch an Extension Development Host.
