About

Altern8 is a programming language that is designed to be easy to learn and use, with syntax similar to Python, JavaScript and Kotlin and control flow that is similar to Python, JavaScript, C++, and Kotlin. It supports common programming concepts such as arithmetic, relational, logical, and bitwise operations, support for variables, user input, lists, strings, loops (for, while), if statements, and functions - The last three can be implemented either as a block of code or as one-liners, providing greater flexibility to the user depending on their preferred coding style. With Altern8, you can write concise, readable code that is suitable for a variety of programming tasks.

Features

This extension adds syntax highlighting and indentation for the Altern8 programming language. It includes support for file-type (*.alt8), keywords, operators, numbers, lists, strings, and comments.

• This extension is being developed in tandem with the Altern8 programming language.
• We are currently in the process of developing an online interpreter (REPL) for Altern8 that will be showcased on the official Altern8 website.
• We are also working on the Altern8 website, which will feature documentation, code examples, downloads for macOS, Windows, Linux, and more.
