Workspaces for VS Code

Manage your Burdenoff Workspaces workspaces and projects without leaving the editor. Browse the workspaces you belong to and the projects in the one you are working in, create and rename them, archive what you no longer need, and jump to the web app for everything else.

Features

  • Workspaces view: every workspace you belong to, with its type, status and slug.
  • Projects view: the projects in the selected workspace, with their key, status and tags.
  • Create, rename, archive and delete workspaces and projects from the view toolbar and each item's context menu.
  • Switch workspace at any time; the extension scopes every request to the workspace you picked.
  • Dashboard and status bar showing your workspace and project counts.
  • Open Web App takes you to app.burdenoff.com for anything the editor does not cover.

Getting started

  1. Install the extension and open the Workspaces view in the Activity Bar.
  2. Run Workspaces: Login (or click Sign In in the view). VS Code shows a one-time code; choose Copy Code & Open URL, sign in on the Burdenoff page that opens and approve the code. The extension never sees your password, and tokens are kept in VS Code's secret storage.
  3. Pick a workspace when asked (or later with Workspaces: Switch Workspace). The Workspaces and Projects views fill in.

Sign-in uses the OAuth device-code flow, so it also works over Remote-SSH, in WSL, in Codespaces and in other browser-less setups.

You need a Burdenoff account. Sign up at app.burdenoff.com.
