EssenceAI

An AI tool that helps developers understand code repositories. Chatbot: A language agnostic tool that can be used to ask high level or specific questions about your repository and get answers in plain english. It can be used to understand latest open source repositories, legacy projects, libraries, frameworks etc Code Summary: Understand specific lines of code with our code summary feature. EssenceAI uses openAI GPT models on the backend.

  • EssenceAI processes repository data to generate answers, but it does not store your code or chat history
  • All your private repository data is AES encrypted
  • SSL encryption during transit.
  • We use OpenAI to provide the service. OpenAI does not use your source code for training. OpenAI is SOC2, GDPR, and CCPA compliant.

How to use it:

To Get the Code Summary

  • Once you select the code, right Click on the Mouse, It shows the “Essence Code Summary” option and clicks on that. To use the chat feature
  • Click on the settings option and enter your Open API key
  • Open the chat companion and load your repo by putting in your github repo url link
  • Select the branch you would like to understand
  • If you are trying to load a private repo, you will be prompted to input the github access token
  • Wait for a few minutes for the repo to be loaded into our chatbot
  • Once loaded, the chat window will open and you will be able to ask questions
