AGI-S for VS CodeAsk about the code you are looking at, explain what it does, and change it in place — without leaving the editor. AGI-S can see the file you are in, the language it is written in, and what you have selected. So "explain this" and "make this handle an empty list" mean this, not something general. What it doesEdit in place — Ask, in the sidebar. Questions about the open file, answered as briefly as the question allows. Explain. Select anything, right-click, AGI-S: Explain this. It leads with the purpose, then only the parts that are not obvious from reading it. Build. AGI-S: Build from a prompt writes complete files — with the
imports, the error handling and the types. No Signing inRun AGI-S: Sign in, or use the accounts menu in the bottom-left. The editor shows a short code and opens your browser; approve the code there and the editor connects. Your password is never typed into VS Code — the browser does the authenticating, and the editor only ever receives a token. The token is stored in your operating system's keychain, and signing out revokes it on the server rather than only deleting the local copy. Plans
The allowance is the same one your AGI-S account uses everywhere else — the editor does not have a separate quota to run out of, and signing in with Pro or Max raises the ceiling here because it raises it everywhere. The panel shows your plan and how much of the window you have used, read live from the server. The extension stores nothing about your plan, so it cannot tell you that you are out when you are not. There is no model picker, and no "thinking depth"On purpose. Choosing how hard a question is before you have asked it is not something anyone can do well, and getting it wrong means either waiting on something trivial or getting a shallow answer to something that mattered. AGI-S decides from the kind of work instead. An inline edit is near-deterministic and gets the most care, because it is going straight into your file. A question gets answered while you wait. Nobody is asked, so nobody gets it wrong. Settings
PrivacyWhat is sent, when you ask something: your question, the path and language of the open file, your selection, and the file itself when it is small enough to be useful context. Nothing is sent when you are not actively asking — there is no background indexing and no telemetry in this extension. RequirementsVS Code 1.91 or later. Works in desktop VS Code and in the browser. |
