For Visual Studio 17.10 or higher, GitHub Copilot Chat is built-in to Visual Studio, it need not be installed as an extension. This extension Copilot Chat is only compatible with Visual Studio versions 17.8 - 17.9

With GitHub Copilot Chat, you can access two key features:

• Chat View: Seek Copilot's assistance for any task or question within the Chat view.
• Inline Refinement: Apply Copilot's suggestions directly to your code, seamlessly maintaining your workflow.

Requirements

1. Install or update the latest GitHub Copilot Chat extension.
2. Verify that your GitHub account signed into Visual Studio has an active Copilot subscription; you can check your subscription status here.
