OVSMU (Free version): OpsHub Visual Studio Online Migration Utility free version helps migrate the most commonly requested data between TFS and Azure DevOps. It enables basic migration of the following entities: change sets, work items, test cases, and version control history. Free version is limited to migrating projects with less than 1000 revisions of work items and less than 1000 revisions of source control.

OVSMU (Commercial version): For customers looking for advance migration options, OpsHub Visual Studio Online Migration Commercial Utility is helpful. It helps migrate entities such as test suite, test run and test result as well as traceability between WI and Change Sets, etc. The commercial version offers additional support by OpsHub throughout the data migration process. The commercial version supports migration of all data with full context between: TFS and Azure DevOps, TFS and TFS, Azure DevOps and TFS, and Azure DevOps and Azure DevOps.

  • RAM – Minimum 8 GB (recommended)
  • Disk space – 2x GB Free Space on the drive where utility is going to be installed (recommended) if X is the DB size of the migration.

OVSMU uses ports 8989 and 9090. Please make sure they are open and available.

The OpsHub Visual Studio Online Migration Utility installation needs Microsoft .NET Framework 4. If the required .NET Framework or Object Model is not available, the installer will provide an error indicating the .NET framework is not found and will redirect you to the download page.
