In a DevOps world, metrics is the key to success!

With the DevOps Metrics extension, we aim to enrich your dashboards with more actionable metrics that can help you gain insights into the continuous delivery process.

Deployment Frequency

Deployment Frequency is a measure for how frequently your team deploys code This is calculated as the number of successful deployments within the selected timeframe.

The widget can provide the following insights

• How efficient are the team(s) to deploy new code
• Which teams are the elite performers

Change Failure Rate (CFR)

Change Failure rate is a measure for how frequent deployment failures occur. The calculation is based on the number of failed deployments as a ratio of the total number of (failed and succeded) deployments.

The widget can provide the following insights

• How reliable is the deployment process
• What is the risk involved with deploying new changes

To get the most accurate measurement, we recommend configuring post-deployment conditions or in another way determine the application health after each deployment. This can be as simple as a manual approval step, calling a health check endpoint or to run an automated test suite in the target environment.

Configuring the widgets

To configure the widgets select a timeframe for how the data should be aggregated. The available options includes Year, Month, Week and Day.

Next, pick a rolling period and add the release definitions and environments you wish to include in the chart.

Note: The widgets does not yet support multi-stage pipelines.
