Now deprecated

The Wiki extension on the marketplace has been deprecated now and is no more available for installation. We have released the new and revamped Wiki in VSTS which is a built-in feature and not an extension. Currently VSTS Wiki is in preview mode which means that you can turn it on or off depending on your requirement.

I am an existing wiki extension user. How do I migrate my existing markdown pages to the new Wiki?

If you are an existing Wiki extension user, then you can migrate your wiki pages to the new wiki using an open source tool developed by Microsoft. Learn more about how to migrate your existing wiki pages to the new VSTS Wiki.

Note: Both Wiki extension and the new VSTS Wiki can co-exist on the same VSTS project. We recommend to uninstall the Wiki extension after you have migrated your existing markdown pages from the extension to VSTS Wiki.

Every wiki page is just a simple markdown file so if you are more comfortable writing markdown you always have the option to edit the markdown source directly and see a live preview of your page.

Wiki pages are stored as markdown files in code repositories. Both git and tfvc are supported. This makes the wiki:

The integrated nature of the wiki allows for endless possibilities in dynamic content.
