MWS Powertools

MWS Powertools (from mobilewares.net) is a free tool for editing + managing the Hardware Configurations available inside the *Microsoft Windows Simulator.

V1.1 Update (April 2) now also supports VS2015/Win10 and allows you to nominate whether to target VS2013 or VS2015 should you have both of these installed.

With this tool developers can add additional devices to the (rather limited) set of presets offered out of the box with Microsoft Windows Simulator

• Add new tablet devices such as Surface 3 Pro(3:2 Aspect ratio / 2160x1440), Surface 3 (1920x1280) and more..
  
• Add brand new/unusual display resolutions(eg. Ultrawide 21:9 monitors, 16:10 laptops, 4k and more)
• Quickly add presets from an inbuilt list of over 50 preset devices(covering popular tablets, various laptop/ultrabook resolutions and most of the known monitor resolutions).
• Take ultra high resolution / native screenshots of your Apps(by adding devices running at 4k/8k resolutions).

MWS Powertools provides an easy to use UI - making it easy to add + edit your devices - no more messing around with Admin protected xml files. Edit all the characteristics of your devices - with ability to provide custom Pixel Resolution, Device Scale Factor and  Display Size.

MWS Powertools is available online via a ClickOnce setup URL.

*Prerequisites assume you have VS2013 and/or VS2015 Installed (which includes Microsoft Windows Simulator) along with .NET Framework v4.5.1.
