Getting started with Power Platform Tools
Power Platform Tools for Visual Studio supports the rapid creation, debugging, and deployment of plug-ins. Other capabilities currently in preview include development and deployment of custom workflow activities, web resources, integration technologies like Azure Service endpoints, webhooks, and more. You may note that Power Platform Tools for Visual Studio is similar in appearance and function to the Developer Toolkit for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2013. Power Platform Tools is a new extension and does not intend to support compatibility with any templates or projects from the Developer Toolkit and vice versa. We recommend that you uninstall the Toolkit before installing this new extension.
The VS2022 is different enough from previous versions that currently it requires its separate vsix installer. Update We plan to release this extension for VS2022 in 2022.
We value your feedback. Please share your thoughts and wish list from within the extension - https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/developer/data-platform/tools/devtools-create-plugin#providing-tool-feedback
