Insert GUID Command

The Insert GUID Command extension provides a quick way to insert GUIDs in the text editor via commands and shortcuts.

Notes

The commands and their shortcuts are available when the text editor is open and has focus, and they are accessible via the Advanced sub-menu of the Edit menu in the Visual Studio® IDE. There are two of them:

• "Insert new GUID" (Shift+Alt+G): Inserts a new GUID at the current position.
• "Insert last GUID" (Ctrl+Shift+Alt+G): Re-inserts the last new GUID at the current position.

The following customization options are available under Tools > Options in the category Extensions > VSEssentials > Insert GUID Command:

• Letter Case: Lower or Upper.
• Parenthesis: None, Curly, Square, Angle, or Round.
