Spectra

Spectra is an Azure DevOps extension that uses Claude AI to illuminate your work items — turning a 2–3 sentence Requirement or Bug into a detailed description, follow-up tasks, and test tasks in seconds.

How it works

1. Right-click any work item → Spectra
2. Spectra calls Claude AI and generates:
   • A detailed HTML description with context, goals, and acceptance criteria
   • 3–5 follow-up implementation tasks
   • 2–3 test tasks with step-by-step test scenarios
3. Review and edit the suggestions in the preview dialog
4. Click Create All — the parent description is updated and all child work items are created automatically

Setup

Go to Project Settings → Spectra and enter:

• Your Anthropic API key (from console.anthropic.com)
• Claude model (e.g. claude-sonnet-4-6)
• Work item type names (defaults: Task and Test Task)
