DutchWorkz Tools for Build and ReleaseThe DutchWorkz Tools Suite is a set of Build and Release tasks which will make life of a developer a lot easier. You are welcome to request new tools if you can think of a useful new task that does not exist yet. If you are happy with this task, please be so kind to add your (5-star) review on the Marketplace. Send EmailThis task does one simple thing: it sends an email to the address(es) you defined in your definition. You can use it to notify team-members of a build which starts, or just ended (note that TFS and VSTS are equipped with build-alerts as well!), but you can defined the contents of the message yourself. IF you use it in a Release-definition it could warn people that a specific environment or server could experience short downtime, etc. Changes in v1.1.0: Many requests were submitted to remove the "DutchWorkz-footer". So we did: add your own footer as part of the body-text. Changes in v1.0.9: You could omit username and password if your SMTP-server is open for relaying. UsageEnter the details for the SMTP-server you'd like to use. Finding the right values could be cumbersome for some providers: we've tried to add the most common settings in the table below. If you experience connection issues during the use of this task, try to vary your configuration as it might differ for each indivual. E.g. for GMail users: if you have two-factor authentication enabled, you might consider trying to use another provider for this task as there seem to be blocking issues.
Once more: it might be handy to vary with the settings above if you experience issues while sending email with this task. Another useful trick: you can use build-variables in this task!
