Excel Import & Export for Azure Boards

Replace the retired Azure DevOps Office/Excel integration with a browser-first workflow that stays inside your Azure DevOps project. Export saved-query or WIQL results to a styled, typed Excel workbook, then re-import edited .xlsx or .csv files through a mandatory dry run that validates every row before any change is applied.

Microsoft no longer supports the Azure DevOps Office integration and directs teams to the web portal or CSV for bulk changes. This extension restores a guided workbook workflow without a desktop add-in. Read the migration guide and check your team's readiness.

After installation

Open an Azure DevOps project, then choose Boards → Excel Import & Export in the project navigation. The extension is a project hub; it does not appear under organization settings or inside the Marketplace page after installation.

Choose a saved query, or switch to WIQL and paste a query.
Select the fields to export and download the Excel workbook.
Edit the workbook, then return to the same hub and upload the .xlsx or .csv.
Review the column mapping and run the dry run.
Commit only after the preview contains no blocking errors.

All work item data stays inside your Azure DevOps browser session. The extension has no Cody Labs server or data relay.
