DevOps Insights turns the activity already sitting in your Azure DevOps project — commits, pull requests, and work items — into a live productivity dashboard. No team rosters to maintain, no manual data entry: every contributor who touches the project shows up automatically, scored and ready to review.

What's New
- A redesigned, navigable dashboard. A persistent, collapsible sidebar now gets you to Team Overview, Anomalies, Scoring Guide, Reports, and Settings in one click, with week-over-week trend indicators, sparkline activity charts, and an auto-generated insights panel on every developer's profile — so you see not just what changed, but which direction it's heading.
- Easier to read at a glance. Larger, more legible text throughout, generous row spacing in the team table, and per-contributor commit/PR/work item/effort counts now shown as color-coded badges — green when up, red when down versus last period — so a scan of the table tells you the story, not just the numbers.
- Built for larger teams. The team table now paginates instead of dumping every contributor on one page, and search, status, and column filters got bigger, easier-to-hit controls.
- A calmer developer profile. Anomaly detail and Key Insights now open on demand from a single button instead of permanently occupying a third of the screen, so the activity you came to see gets the full page width by default.
- Score levels, at a glance. Every score now maps to one of four plain-language tiers — Elite, Strong, Growing, Needs Attention — used consistently across the team table, developer profiles, and PDF exports, so a color or a badge always means the same thing everywhere you see it.
- A visual Scoring Guide, plus the full breakdown. A new at-a-glance infographic explains how scoring and anomaly detection work using a live example pulled from your own data — with a link through to the complete formula-by-formula reference for anyone who wants every number spelled out.
- Faster repeat loads. Team and developer data is now cached for 60 minutes per project, so switching between views or revisiting a date range no longer waits on a fresh fetch every time — with a one-click way to clear the cache in Settings if you want the latest data immediately.
- Tooltips throughout. Hover any metric, card, or column header you're unsure about for a one-line explanation of exactly what it measures — no more guessing what a number means.
- PDF exports now include the project name, so a report opened later or shared out of context is never ambiguous about which project it came from.

- Zero setup, always current. Contributors are derived from real activity, not a roster you have to keep in sync. Add someone to the project and they appear in the next refresh — remove them and they quietly age out.
- Spot problems before they're a retro topic. Automated anomaly detection surfaces idle periods, over- or under-logged hours, and out-of-range task effort as they happen, not weeks later.
- One score, at a glance. A transparent 0–100 productivity score turns commits, PRs, work items, and logged effort into a single, explainable number — with a full breakdown for anyone who asks "why?"
- Read-only by design. DevOps Insights only reads project, code, and work item data. It never writes back to your project, so there's no risk to your existing workflows.

Installation
- Install the extension from the Azure DevOps Marketplace.
- Open Azure DevOps.
- Navigate to Boards.
- Select DevOps Insights.
Permissions Required
DevOps Insights requests only the read access it needs to build your dashboard — it never modifies your project:
