This extension package contains five layer diagrams for use in Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate edition. These custom toolbox items present the layer diagrams as shown in Microsoft Application Architecture Guide 2nd Edition from patterns & practices.

This package include one layer diagram for each of the following five application types:

·    Web Application

·    Rich Client Application

·    Rich Internet Application

·    Services Application and

·    Mobile Application

Installation:

To install this package, download the file here and run it to install. Once installed, this package will show up in the Visual Studio Extension Manager.

To uninstall, use the uninstall option in the Extension Manager and restart Visual Studio.

Getting Started:

In Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate edition, create a new "Modeling Project". Add a new item of type "Layer Diagram" to this project. This package will appear in the toolbox. Drag one of the  layer diagram from the toolbox to the diagram surface to get started.
