This extension contains the Web Template SharePoint Project Item Template for use with Visual Studio 2010 SharePoint Developer Tools. This Web Template SPI Template simplifies the process of creating Web Templates by:
allowing you to choose a base Site Definition from the list of all available Site Definitions
automatically copying onet.xml from the selected base Site Definition
automatically removing all pieces of the copied onet.xml that are not allowed in a Web Template, for example Modules
automatically adding all Web Template-specific Features to the onet.xml
automatically adding Web Template version information elements to the project
automatically linking all the elements and adding them to the right Features ensuring that everything will be deployed properly
