This version of the extension includes the following Cognitive Services: Computer Vision API, Text Analytics, Intelligent Search, and Face API.
Adding the Cognitive Service through Connected Services will:
Provide Cognitive Service support for ASP.Net Core applications
Automatically add configuration to access your Cognitive Service through your project
Add the required Nuget packages to your project
Allow you to access your created Cognitive Service resource in the Azure portal
To get started:
Install this extension.
Double click on the “Connected Services” node in Solution Explorer in your ASP.Net Core application.
Click on the Cognitive Service you wish to add
When the selected Cognitive Service tab opens, select the subscription that you would like your Cognitive Service to be associated with and click the “Add” button on the bottom left. By default, Visual Studio will create a Cognitive Service with a unique name.
Tip: If you would like to change location settings, resource group, or pricing tiers from the preselected values, you can click on the ‘Edit’ link next to the Cognitive Service
Once the Cognitive Service has been added, you will be able to manage the resource in the azure portal with the links on the right
