Here it is… Customizable Start Page. You can choose which elements of the start page you want to use and which you want to hide. You can also change the default alignment of the Centre Content displayed in the page and select a custom background image.

Installation Instructions
The following steps describe how to switch from the default Start Page to the CustomizableStartPage.
• On the Tools menu, click Options.
• On the left side of the Options dialog box, expand the Environment node, and then click Startup.
• In the Customize Start Page list, select ‘[Installed Extension] CustomizableStartPage’
• Click OK.
Usage Instructions
• Click ‘Customize’ button available at right bottom.
• Check/Uncheck the options to show/hide.
• Select Left/Right in dropdown for Centre Content alignment.
• Select Custom background image and stretch as well as opacity of background/foreground.
• Click Apply to apply changes. Click Cancel to keep previous settings.
• Unchecking all the checkboxes in a group will also uncheck parent checkbox automatically.
Troubleshooting
• If you encounter issues while loading Visual Studio with CustomizableStartPage, you can start Visual Studio in safe mode by typing: “Devenv /SafeMode” at the Visual Studio Command prompt. This prevents the bad page from loading. You can then return to the Options dialog box and reset Visual Studio to use the default Start Page.
