Simple VS Window Title
Shows the solution name first in the Visual Studio window title, so you can tell instances apart in the taskbar and Alt+Tab switcher.
What you get
The title is always built as [solutionName] - [ideName]:
MySolution - Microsoft Visual Studio
MySolution (Debugging) - Microsoft Visual Studio while the debugger is in break mode
MySolution (Running) - Microsoft Visual Studio while the debugger is running
No active document name, no branch or path, no extra noise.
Why this extension
- Zero configuration. Install it and it works. There are no options pages.
- No polling. The extension reacts to changes of the main window title instead of using a timer, so it adds no background load and the title does not flicker back to the default.
- Lightweight. No external processes, no git calls, no file watchers.
- Open Folder support. For a folder opened without a solution, the folder name is used.
Requirements
Visual Studio 2022 or later (amd64).
